Baranavichy: Police Detain Journalists and Youth Activists during Trial over Yaraslau Hryshchenia

In his interview with the press-center of Charter’97 Pavel Seviarynets said that the riot police violently beat people during the detention. ‘They tore trousers to Ivan Shyla and my jacket as well. They kicked people with feet. The detention was conducted in a very rude manner,’ Seviarynets said.
An administrative case has been brought against Uladz Siarheyeu and reports for alleged ‘petty hooliganism’ (article 17.1 of the Administrative Code) and participation in unauthorized action (article 23.34) have been drawn on eleven detainees. The trials over them were appointed on 14 and 22 September. Then the people were released.
