Baran Authorities Prohibit Picketing

Local authorities in Baran (Orsha district) did not allow activists to hold picket planned on the day of the Social March.
Human rights defender Vasil Leuchankau reports, the application for a picket was sent by local political activists V. Hrushetski and V. Mikhasiou. It is interesting, that in their letter the administration of Baran refers to "the instructions of the department for internal affairs of Orsha district". Probably, the local authorities do not have enough power so that they have to follow the instructions of the district police.
