Hrodna: Yury Istomin Arrested, Andrei Yanushkevich – Fined

The police continue haunting public and political activists in Hrodna. On 1 October Leninski and Kastrychnitski courts of Hrodna tried the abovementioned activists of the United Party.

On 30 September the police detained six UCP activists. All of them were released but Istomin and Yanushkevich. The chair of Hrodna regional UCP office Yury Istomin was sentenced to five days of arrest and Andrei Yanushkevich was fined 93 000 rubles (about 43 US dollars). The same day at Hrodna railway station the police detained a member of Hrodna city BPF council Maksim Hubarevich, but then released him.
