Young Front Supports Candidacy of Zmitser Zhaleznichenka for Student Peace Prize

The underground youth organization Young Front has supported the initiative of the Belarusian human rights activist, the Human Rights Center Viasna and the BPF Youth (youth wing of the Belarusian People’s Front Party) for nomination of an activist of the BPF Youth Zmitser Zhaleznichenka for Student Peace Prize.

A top student Zmitser was twice illegally expelled from Homel State University named after F.Skaryna for his political views and active public position. Then he was forcedly taken to a military unit, where he is being forced to give the oath of allegiance, after which he would become a soldier. We note an exceptional courage of Zmitser Zhaleznichenka in protection of his views, right to education and use of the Belarusian language and believe that he is a worthy candidate for the Student Peace Prize.
