Leader of Homel Entrepreneurs Is Expelled from Market
On 13 March a court marshal told Mikhail Vasilyeu, chairman of the council of entrepreneurs of the Prudkouski market, to vacate his place at the market by 24 March. Otherwise the entrepreneur will be expelled from the market with the use of force.
Vitsebsk: Barys Khamaida Detained
On 14 March in the center of Vitsebsk the police detained the opposition activist Barys Khamaida, who was selling newspapers at his usual place. However, as the detainee said to human rights activists, the police were looking for white-red-white flags, not for newspapers.
Siarhei Parsiukevich Gets Official Charges
The leader of Vitsebsk entrepreneurs, political prisoner Siarhei Parsiukevich has been officially accused by the prosecutor’s office on violation of Article 364 (‘violence or a threat of violence against a policeman’) of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
Guilty Traffic Policemen Still Working
Alexander Mendzeleu, chief of the republican Traffic Police, said the actions by the traffic officers were unprofessional and they had been dismissed in the connection with the accident. But as it has been found out, the people allegedly dismissed, know nothing about it.
