“Lutskevich Brothers Fund” Is Liquidated

On 22 September the first court sitting on the case about the liquidation of the Public association “Lutskevich Brothers Fund” will take place at the Supreme Court of Belarus.

The liquidation suit has been filed by the Ministry of Justice due to the fact that the juridical address of the organization is situated in the dwelling house with many flats, while the Dwelling code states that flats can’t serve as offices. Besides, the public association is charged with violations of the accountancy rules.

Yury Chavusaw, the coordinator of the system of collective defense of the NGOs of Belarus points out that the factual content of the suit is to a great extent based on the materials, received by the Ministry of Justice from the organization as an answer to the ministry inquiry. It’s worth mentioning that such inquiries have been filed to dozens of other public associations. That’s why soon there can be liquidated many other associations.

The PA “Lutskevich Brothers Fund” is the 10th NGO against which the ministry has filed the liquidation suit for the recent months.
