WIFE OF MISSING POLITICIAN ZINAIDA HANCHAR ASKS JUSTICE MINISTRY TO WITHDRAW SUIT AGAINST VIASNA

Zinaida Hanchar, wife of politician Viktar Hanchar, kidnapped in September 1999, writes in her letter: “During 4 years after my husband was kidnapped the Human Rights center “Viasna” is helping me and my family. I am not a lawyer. When this terrible event happened in my life, I had no idea what to do, who to address, who my husband’s fate depends on. The Human Rights Center “Viasna” helped be with advice, moral support, materially and facilitated legal assistance for me. It is really a pity that the Ministry of Justice filed a liquidation suit against Viasna. The country and its citizens have a very difficult time now. Unfortunately, there are really only few people left who can stretch them a helping hand.I beg you to do everything possible not to close down Viasna. Do not deprive us of the opportunity to receive help from people, who are not indifferent to the misfortune I have”
