Public Association “Kassiopeya” Liquidated

On 9 October the Supreme Court liquidated the public association “Belarusian Fund “Kassiopeya” on the suit of the Ministry of Justice. The reason for the liquidation were the warnings for the incorrect juridical address (registered in a private flat) and the incorrect organization blanks.According to BelaPAN, the last warning to “Kassiopeya” was issued by the Ministry of Justice on 4 August. The ministry gave the organization 1 months for the correction of the made mistakes. However, the liquidation suit was filed on 17 August, before the end of the given term.
According to “Kassiopeya” Head Valiantsina Sviatskaya, at the trial the charges in cooperation with the unregistered Assembly of NGOs and violation of the Electoral code. Valiantsina Sviatskaya says that the real reason for the liquidation is connected with the official politics.
