Supreme Court is Expected to Pronounce Verdict on “Viasna” Case on October 28

At 10 a.m. on 28 October the Supreme Court of Belarus will hold the conclusive sitting on the liquidation case against one of the biggest human rights associations of the country, republican Public association “Human Rights Center “Viasna”.

The trials was to have begun on October 21, as on that day the police was allegedly informed that it had been mined, it was postponed to October 22.

On 22, 23 and 24 October the pretensions of the Ministry of Justice to the Human Rights Center were considered, the defendants gave explanations, witnesses were summoned for testimony.

On 28 October the court, after the court debates, the court is expected to pronounce its verdict on the case.
