Aliaksandr Bukhvostaw: 10 Days of Jail for Attempt of Picketing

Aliaksandr Bukvostaw, Head of the Republican trade union of agricultural machine builders, planned to hold an action in Kastrychnitskaya Square in the center of Minsk with the aim to draw public attention to violation of the rights of workers and trade unions. As soon as A. Bukvostaw unrolled the posters, a policeman ran towards him and read the articles of administrative violation. Then people in plain clothes seized him and pulled into a police bus. According to Radio “Liberty”, Head of the trade union of the “Planar” enterprise Ihar Komlik was detained together with him.In an hour Minsk Tsentralny Borough Court sentenced Aliaksandr Bukhvostaw to 10 days of arrest for violation of part 1 of Article #167 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Belarus.
