FINED 1200 USD FOR INSTALLING A CROSS

On November 17, 2003 Kastrychnitski borough court of Vitebsk finished trials over Dziady action participants.Activists of Christian Conservative Party were detained on November 2 during celebration of Dziady – the Day of Ancestors’ Commemoration. On November 17 two of the action participants were tried.
Alexander Salawyan, who set crosses in the places of mass shootings of Stalin repression victims, was officially warned.
Judge Maryna Marozava recognized Uladzimir Pleshchanka organizer of the unauthorized action and fined him 2.5 million BYR (about 1200 USD).
Activists of Christian Conservative Party were detained on November 2 on their way to Uspenskaya hill, the place of mass shootings of Stalin repression victims.
