Statement of Forum Participants
27.01.2004.
We, participants of the Forum of Human Rights Defenders, express our indignation at the beating of members of the Public association Belarusian Helsinki Committee in the town of Belaaziorsk in Brest region.We express our moral support to and solidarity with Natallia Akaronak, Elvira Tkachenka, Yawhen Akaronak and their human rights activity.
We apply to the law machinery with the demand to conduct all-sided objective investigation on the fact of beating.
We are concerned with the frequent beatings of human rights activities, inaction of the law machinery on prevention of such cases and punishment of the persons guilty.
