Polatsk City Court Warns Trade Union Activists

On 8 April the activists of the Free Trade Union Uladzikmir Antanovich and Viktar Stukaw were detained at the check-point of the factory “Polatsk-Shklovalakno” during the informational action of support to Viktar Stukaw, who was fired from the factory. The detainees were charged with participation in unauthorized action and warned.More than 10 persons took part in the action. According to RFE/RL, the head of Free Trade Union Viktar Stukaw received the official notice about being dismissed from the factory. Having worked 20 years at a workshop with harmful conditions, Mr. Stukaw was given sack and administratively punished in addition to this.
