BPF Sues Belarusian TV

According to the press-service of Belarusian People’s Front the party filed a suit on protection of honor and dignity to Minsk Economical Court against the defaming remarks of the host of “V tsentre vnimaniya” (“In the center of attention”) Yury Prakopaw in the ether of Belarusian TV on the eve of “Chernobyl Way”, 25 April 2004. He said that in the case Vintsuk Viachorka came to power he would stop all support programs to victims of Chernobyl tragedy. BPF Party demands to disprove it on TV and find this information false. Vintsuk Viachorka intends to sue to court on his own behalf and demand moral compensation from Belarusian TV.BPF also filed a suit to Malaryta District Court against the head of the information department of Malaryta District Executive Committee S. Strok who stated that during World War II the BPF supported fascists. The interests of the BPF in these trials will be represented by the members of the Party Uladzimir Labkovich and Valiantsin Stefanovich.
