Case against Mikalay Shykel to Be Considered on 27 May

At 8 p.m. on 16 May the police detained the secretary of Brest regional committee of the Party of Communists of Belarus, Mikalay Shykel. 10 fly-sheets of the party were taken away from him. The police took him to Brest Leninski Borough Board of Internal Affairs, where the report on violation of part 3 of Article 172 (distribution of printed editions, produced with violations of the established order, containing no issue data, the content of which is aimed at doing harm to state and public order, rights and legal interests of citizens”) was composed.

Mikalay Shykel is former vice-head of criminal police of the board of internal affairs at Brest Regional Executive Committee. He is indignant at the actions of his colleagues which he considers to be illegal and malicious and is sure that he didn’t do any harm to state and public order, rights and legal interests of citizens”.

The administrative case against Brest regional PCB committee will be considered by Brest Leninski Borough Administrative Commission on 27 May.
