27.07.2004.

In the even of 25 May the minors Maxim Hromava and Katsiaryna Klimko, activists of the “Zubr” movement, were detained for writing “Set Marynich Free!” at a bus stop. During the detention the police beat Hromaw.

Then there was brought a criminal case against the detainees, upon article 341 of the Criminal Code – defilement of buildings or other constructions with cynical inscriptions or images.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was stopped and the case was closed by the ruling of the major lieutenant of the police D. Yatsyna, where it is stated: “In our case the suspect Hromaw M. and Klimko K. wrote on buildings “Set Marynich Free!”. This inscription is not cynical. It doesn’t contradict to public and social ideals, and doesn’t criticize the generally accepted cultural and spiritual values. That’s why their actions don’t contain the crime, considered in article 341 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus”.
