Hrodna Local Administrations Contradict Election Code, Hog-Tie Initiative Groups

On August 11 Anatol Khatsko applied to Hrodna-Central election district commission # 52 with the complaint about violations of the Election law. The head of Siarhei Antusevich’s initiative group stated Leninski and Kastrychnitski borough administrations broke the law when defining location of polling stations.

On August 3 the local administrations defined location of polling station in district #52. Information about the borders of precincts was published in Hrodna official newspaper Hrodzenskaya Prauda on August 7.

Kastrychnitski and Leninski boroughs administrations violated the borders of election district # 52. They included into the precincts apartment buildings which do not belong to election district # 52. For example, within precinct # 29 they have included apartment buildings which do not belong to election district # 52. City hospital # 4 is included to precinct # 32, although it does not belong to the district. There are 5 more similar cases.
The local administrations violated the election law. At the same time, they made it impossible for initiative groups to collect signatures.

In his application Anatol Khatsko asks the district election commission to clear up the borders of precincts in election district # 52.
