Local Councilor Tried for 21 July Rally

On 16 August acting chair of Minsk regional branch of BPF, local councilor Yuras Ziankovich was summoned to Savetski police board. He is accused of insubordination to legal demands of police after the rally of 21 July. Yuras Ziankovich will be tried tomorrow, on August 17.Let us remind you about the incident. After the rock-concert the police stopped Zinakovich’s van. The road police officer wanted to inspect the van. He thought the local councilor had political leaflets in his van. Yuras Ziankovich did not let the police to examine the van and showed his certificate of a councilor. The police officers decided the certificate was forged and took Ziankovich and his wife to police station.
