Continuation of Trial of Valery Levanewski and Aliaksandr Vasilyew

The trial started on 30 August. Valery Levanewski and Aliaksandr Vasilyew are charged with public insult to president (part 2 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). This insult was allegedly printed in the fly-sheets, for distribution of which Levanewski was detained in Hrodna Investigative Isolator for four months. Aliaksandr Vasilyyew is also charged with organization of unauthorized meeting on 1 May (article 342 of the Criminal Code). Participants of this meeting demanded Lukashenka’s retirement.Add commentary
