International Helsinki Federation of Human Rights Condemns Sentence to Valery Levanewski and Aliaksandr Vasilyew

Aaron Rrhodes, executive director of International Helsinki Federation, called the trial in Hrodna politically motivated:

-- This is politically motivated charge which is a result of the court actions, which were possible influenced by politics. Our organization stands against such kind of sentences. We think that Belarusian authorities violate the political rights of these people. It is a part of the process, directed at hindrance to the development of democracy in Belarus.

International Helsinki Federation pointed out that Belarusian authorities violate the right to establish political organization and organize strike committee.
