Zubr Activist Detained for Spreading Unregistered Newspaper

Ivatsevichy police threatens Zubr activist Stanislaw Kuchynski with institution of criminal proceedings against him. The young man was detained on September 25 for handing out Zubr newspaper.

Stanislaw has spent about 6 hours in the police station. The police officers needed so much time to talk to their leadership. Stanislaw was told that he would face charges with making graffiti on the walls of Kalinkavichy. At about 9 p.m. the police drew up a report of violation of Article 172 part 3 of the Code of Administrative Offences (distribution of printed materials without publisher’s imprint). At about 10 p.m. Kuchynski was released.

Next morning, on Sunday, policemen came to the apartment of the young activist and took him to Ivatsevichy police department again. He was charged with violation of Article 143 of the Administrative Code (insanitariness).
