BPF Board Member Detained in Mahilow

On 28 September Mahilow police detained Zmitser Salawyow, deputy chair of BPF Mahilow city organization and member of BPF Board. At about 11 p.m. Zmitser Salawyow posted a Five Plus sticker on a wall and was detained by police.
Mr. Salawyow was taken to Leninski police board and was kept there for 3 hours. The police drew up a report of violation of Art 172-3 of the Code of Administrative Offences (distribution of printed materials produced with violation of the established order which are aimed at damaging the state or public order, and the rights and legal interests of citizens). Such an offence may be punished with a fine of up to 40 USD. The police seized a couple of stickers, several leaflets, a booklet with poems, personal notes, and 2 computer diskettes. Zmitser Salawyow is going to appeal against the actions of the police.
