The Court of Central Borough of Minsk rejected the appeal filed by the lawyer of Anton Filimonau, the son of Veranika Charkasava murdered in October 2004, against the decision of the procurator's office of Minsk to have the minor examined in a psychiatric clinic.

This decision can be repealed within 24 hours in the Minsk City Court. The court session was closed and lasted for 40 minutes, reports the Press Service of the PA Belarusian Association of Journalists.

Only the lawyer Anatol Kulikou, the plaintiff (Diana Charkasava, the murdered journalist's mother), and a representative of the procurator's office in Central Borough of Minsk were allowed to attend to the court session. All of them had to provide a written agreement not to disclose the materials of the hearing.

Anton Filimonau himself was not summonsed to court. He is still with his father in Moscow.
