On 6 March Pershamaiski Court of Minsk will start hearing yet another criminal case for slandering the President of the Republic of Belarus (part 2 Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Belarus) and for degrading the President of the Republic of Belarus (part 1 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).

On 28 March the former businessman and ex-deputy of the Supreme Court of the 13th convocation Andrei Klimau received a statement saying that a criminal case has been initiated against him. The hearings are due to start in Pershamaiski Court of Minsk on 6 April. Judge Alena Ananich asked the defendant to inform the court if he had a defense lawyer.
The criminal case against A.Klimau was investigated by the senior investigator for especially important affairs of Minsk Procurator's Office Aliaxandr Pikarau. Klimau is accused of defaming the President of the Republic of Belarus (part 2 Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of the RB) and degrading the President of the Republic of Belarus (part 1 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of the RB). The statement requiring the case to be sent to court says that A.Klimau has written and organized printing and distribution of books and flyers that contain comments degrading the President of Belarus, and also accuse him of grievous felonies.
