ELECTION WEEK: EVENTS AND GENERAL CONCLUSIONS

On 14 March Ministry of Justice adopted a ruling amending the Rules for legalizing and reviewing documents submitted for state registration by political parties, professional unions, other public associations, and also registering the above entities and their branches with the state.

31.03.2005.

The document was entered into the National Roster of Legal Acts of the Republic of Belarus (#44, 24 March 2005). Its complete name is as follows: “Ministry of Justice adopted a ruling amending the Rules for legalizing and reviewing documents submitted for state registration by political parties, professional unions, other public associations, and also registering the above entities and their branches with the state”. The regulation by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus dated 14 March 2005, #8”. The registration number of the document in the National Roster is 8/12286. The most fundamental changes were made to Chapter 5 of said Rules, which cover the order of registering and liquidating branches of public associations and political parties. Thus, the document pays much attention to the reasons for removing organizations from the log of branch organization registration, and deregistering them. An organization branch can lose its registered status in the event of failing to fulfill within a month the demands by the registration agency which issued a written warning to the organization for having violated the legislation or the charter of the related organization branch.
Importantly, this amendment to the Rules simply concerns a number of political parties and public associations that have received warnings for placing their organization branches in residential premises. Thus, soon it may be expected that many local organization branches or political parties and public associations will disappear, reports belngo.info.
