Vice-chair of Union of Poles Is Interrogated

On 8 September Shchuchyn District Procurator’s Office interrogated Iuzaf Pazhetski, vice-chair of the Union of Poles in Belarus. The interrogation lasted from 6 to 7.30 p.m. The matter is that in July Viktar Bohdan, chair of Shchuchyn Polish House applied to the police because of alleged life threats by the UPB activists Iu. Pazhetski, former editor of Glos znad Niemna newspaper Andzhei Pisalnik, former editor of Magazyn Polski Andrei Pachobut and Vieslau Kieuliak. In July they came to Shchuchyn to check the activity of the Polish House there and found many violations, including financial ones. The procurator’s office brought a criminal case on the incident. Iuzaf Pazhetski categorically rejected having threatened to Bohdan.
