On 18 November in Minsk the Palace of Trade Union Culture hosts a constituent assembly of the new writer organization to be composed of the authors loyal to the current governmental authorities. The congress is arranged by the state structures, the attendees are provided by the ideology departments in the regional and Minsk city executive committees. Virtually none of the renowned Belarusian writers have been invited to take part in the congress. When the representatives of the leadership of the current Union of Writers of Belarus Alies Pashkievich, Barys Piatrovich and Eduard Akulin came to the congress, they and independent journalist were not allowed inside.Add commentary
