Saiuzdruk companies cancel contracts with independent publications

The Minharsaiuzdruk company cancelled the subscription contract for the non-state newspaper Salidarnasts. This is what the newspaper's editorial office learned from the official letter sent by the director of the company I.Dudzich. The letter dated November 28 does not mention the reasons for canceling the contract concluded in mid-September.
The senior editor Aliaxandr Starykievich told the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists that the newspaper could not have committed any violations because the contract did not even take effect: this was a cooperation contract for the year 2006.
The other day the non-state newspaper Vitebski kurier received a similar letter from the director of Vitsebskablsaiuzdruk L.Iuzhyk. The letter dated November 16 said that the enterprise discontinues "contractual relations" with the publication from January 1, 2006.
The enterprises Vitsebskablsaiuzdruk and Minharsaiuzdruk are part of the Ministry of Information system. According to the Ministry site, the Saiuzdruk system enterprises sell printed materials in retail and wholesale; distribute individually and on the basis of subscription periodicals through a network of shops and kiosks; subscribe for periodicals.
