A youth movement activist detained in the street in Pinsk

23.12.2005.

On 22 December at 3 p.m. in the street in Pinsk police officers detained Alies Liulchau allegedly because they wanted to establish his identity. He was put into a car and taken to Leninski BIA, where the police searched him without witnesses – the only witness present was the BIA employee Tanialovich, which is violation of the law. When asked by Liulchyts for witnesses, the chief of the department Mr. Halavach said that the guy would get a hit on his head, with the boot making an impression on the forehead. Also, they also threatened to take the guy down to the cellar and show him, insulting and intimidating him in the process.
As a result of the search performed in Liulchyts's place, the police confiscated fly sheets about Aliaxandr Milinkievich and made a report registering an administrative violation by terms of Article 172 CAV (distribution of printed materials).
Alies Lialchyts is going to complain against these police actions.
