Hrodna Region: Searches and Detentions Are Going on and on

16-March searches in the town of Luna in Maty district of Hrodna region weren’t the last ones. Later in this town the police searched the house of Uladzimir Brytsko, member of the Conservative-Christian Party BPF and the Educational public association Leu Sapeha Foundation. On 17 March in Shchuchyn the police searched the house of Vasil Biazmen, active participant of the electoral campaign of Aliaksandr Milinkevich. Biazmen’s wife said this search could be connected with the criminal case that was brought against the activist of the electoral campaign Siarhei Liashkevich who was arrested for three months, the time of the case investigation.

In Hrodna the police detained the election observers Aliaksandr Vasilieu (one of the leaders of the local entrepreneurs’ movement, former political prisoner) and Andrei Mialeshka (youth activists). 11 members of Milinkevich’s electoral campaign are already in jail: Maksim Hubarevich, Mikola Lemianouski, Iauhen Liasotski, Siarhei Malchyk, Andrei Pachobut, Iuzaf Pazhetski, Andzhei Pisalnik, Vadzim Saranchukou, Viktar Sazonau, Artur Smiatanin and Mikola Voran.
