Vaukavysk: Editor of Mestnaya Gazeta Andrei Shantarovich Sentenced to 3 Days of Jail

In the morning of 19 March Vaukavysk District Court sentenced the editor of the non-state newspaper Mestnaya gazeta Andrei Shantarovich to three days of jail for ‘petty hooliganism (article 156 of the Code of Administrative Violations). The police accused him of using foul expressions to insult the chair of Smarhon District Board of Internal Affairs. At present the editor of Mestnaya gazeta is kept in the temporary isolator of Vaukavysk District Board of Internal Affairs.Add commentary
