Babruisk and Brest: Authorities Don’t Authorize Pickets in Support of Aliaksandr Kazulin

In Babruisk the authorities rejected the request for the authorization of a picket in support of the former candidate to presidency Aliaksandr Kazulin for a formal reason - because it was to have been filed two weeks before the date of the picket. Kazulin’s proxy Taisia Kabanchuk said that on 17 April one more application for pickets will be submitted to Babruisk Executive Committee.

Brest branch of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) filed its application 15 days before the planned dates of their series of pickets. They intended to hold pickets in nine places since 19 April till 18 May. Brest City Executive Committee rejected the application and stated that the only place for the picket could be the stadium Budaunik that was being repaired at the time.
