EU, US ambassadors in Minsk hold testimonial dinner for Marinich

Source: www.charter97.orgThe Latvian embassy in Minsk on Thursday hosted a testimonial dinner to celebrate the early release of prominent Belarusian opposition figure Mikhail Marynich.
Juris Poikans, a counselor at the embassy, said that it was a matter of honor to invite the former ambassador. Latvia had been struggling for Marynich release, he stressed.
Mr. Marinich thanked the diplomats for the dinner and their efforts to free him and claimed that he’ll return to politics as soon as he recovers.
