The Ministry of Justice initiates the temporary suspension of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee activities.

According to Radio Svaboda, the appropriate call is sent to the Spreme Court. The Ministry considers the BHC had been violating the law for some time.Among the violations is the folloeing: in 2004 during the parliamentary elections the BHC sent as independent observers who were not the members of the Committee, and the BHC has violated the tax laws for a long time.
