Investigation of Criminal Case on Beating of Journalist of Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi Aleh Ulevich Is Suspended

Recently the journalist Aleh Ulevich has received a note from the Main Board of Internal Affairs of Minsk City Executive Committee informing that the investigation of his beating by a policeman on 2 March has been suspended because the person who is to be accused of the crime hasnt been identified.

Let us remind that on 2 March the journalist was videoing the illegal detentions of people near Minsk Kastrychnitski Borough Board of Internal Affairs by the workers of the special police unit Almaz. As a result, he was beaten into a cranial trauma and broken nose. The policemen who did it remain unpunished. At first, the case of the beating was investigated by Minsk Maskouski Borough Board of Internal Affairs, then it was passed to Minsk Maskouski Borough Prosecutors Office, then returned back to Maskouski BBIA and soon passed to the department of preliminary investigation of Minsk City Executive Committee that suspended it.
