The Coordination Committee of the European Coalition released a statement in support of young hunger-strikers

The statement was made in Baranavichy after considering the final analysis of the presidential campaign prepared by Mikalai Statkevich. It supports the demands of the Young Front activists who have been on hunger-strike since May 29. The statement says:

The Coordination Committee of European Coalition at its meeting on June 6 in Baranavichy, having taken into account the information provided by a Young Front representative, fully supports the demands of the hunger-strikers to stop legal persecution for activity on behalf of an unregistered organization, to release all the political prisoners, to rehabilitate the employees dismissed on political grounds, to stop persecuting the Christians who support people fighting for truth and justice.

The Coalition calls on Belarusian and international organizations to demand that the Belarusian regime stopped legal and administrative persecution of Young Front members.

The Coalition calls on the Ministry of Justice to register Young Front by contacting with its leaders in order to eliminate any grounds for criminal punishment.

The coalition also calls on the Ministry of Education to rehabilitate in their rights the students who have been sent down on political or ideological grounds.
