The FTUB received a letter from the Ministry of Justice, demanding to produce in a months time the documents certifying the legal address of the Unions branch at Polatsk-Shklovalakno plant or to withdraw its license. The check-up showed that the organization does not occupy the premises stated in its registration documents, which is a violation of the law says the letter. Last year Polatsk-Shklovalakno administration refused to lend premises to the trade union. But it is the employers fault that the negotiation is always delayed. In our reply to the Ministry of Justice we will describe this situation. Since the demand to certify legal address is a violation of Convention #87 of the International Labor Organization, we expect a consensus between ILO and the Belarusian government.
