Vitsebsk activists fined

According to Vitsebski kurier newspaper, on June 26 Barys Khamaida and Ales Mudrychenka were fined for distributing private newspapers by Vitsebsk Chyhunachny Borough Court.
Barys Khamaida distributes private newspapers Vitsebski kurier M, Nasha Niva and magazine ARCHE in the center of the town. On June 26 at about 1.00 p.m. he was approached by several policemen, who asked to show his ID. After Khamaida refused to do it, he was taken to Chyhunachny Borough Board of Internal Affairs. On the same day, he was fined BYR 31,000.
Ales Mudrychenka was detained at the same place for selling Vitsebski kurier. At about 12.00 a police car appeared. The policemen demanded to show his documents, but Mudrychenka said he did not have any documents on him. He was taken to Chyhunachny Borough Board of Internal Affairs and searched. After that he was taken to Chyhunachny Borough Court and fined BYR 31,000.
