Mikola Statkevich, who is now serving his term in Baranavichy was allowed to have a two-week trip to Minsk, but only after July 4.Statkevich thinks that the ban is caused by the coming celebration of Independence Day on July 3, since the authorities do not want to see the opposition leader in Minsk on the day.
