Andzelika Borys Summoned For Interrogation Again

The chairperson of the Union of Poles in Belarus, not recognized by the regime, Andzelika Borys, has received a summons and visited the police department of Leninski district of Hrodna today. Investigator Pyotr Lents was interested why in Poland she called herself the head of the Union of Poles in Belarus. However, Andzelika Borys refused to give evidence.Last week she was interrogated in the same case already.
Last year the Justice Ministry declared illegitimate the Union of Poles headed by Andzelika Borys. Then a repeat congress of the Union of Poles was held by order of the authorities. New leadership of the public organization, loyal to the regime, was elected there. However Polish authorities recognize only the previous leadership of the UPB, elected in spring of 2005, Radio Svaboda informs.
