Aliaksandr Milinkevich to Visit Political Prisoners Artur Finkevich and Paval Seviarynets

Today the leader of the united democratic forces of Belarus Alyaksandr Milinkevich plans to visit political prisoners Artur Finkevich and Paval Sevyarynets who serve sentence of restricted liberty in Mahilyou and in the settlement of Malale Sitna correspondingly.

Personal support is only a little thing we could and should do for those people today. Moral presence, concern of all democratic Belarus should be felt daily by all political prisoners in our state. They hadnt been intimidated by harsh punishments and openly came out for ideals of freedom and independence of Belarus. Solidarity with them, their families is my duty, the leader of the united democratic forces Alyaksandr Milinkevich told.

Political prisoners are to receive food, books and radio set.

As we have informed, the Young Front activist Artur Finkevich is placed to a corrective facility of open type in Mahilyou on June 29. He was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for a political graffiti Fed up with him! and We want a ne3w one! During the electoral campaign Artur Finkevich had spent almost three months behind bars in a remand prison

Paval Sevyarynets is serving a sentence since August 15, 2005. He was charged with organizing protest rallies against fraudulent parliamentary elections results and referendum held in Minsk on October 18 and 19, 2004. He was sentenced to 3 years of restriction of freedom (corrective labour). After an amnesty the term was shortened to 2 years. He is serving the sentence in a timber camp in Malae Sitna, Polatsk district.
