Press legislation to be changed

The Law on Mass Media will be amended to comply with the new anti-terrorism project designed by the Ministry of Justice. There will be a special provision prohibiting the usage of mass media for distributing information that could justify terrorism in any form.According to Andrei Bastunets, vice-head of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, the amendments will not affect independent media, since it is the practice of law (which is very far from the law), not the legal regulations, that counts nowadays.
