Believers of New Life Church Want to Hold a Meeting

Representatives of the New Life Church have applied to Minsk City Executive Committee asking it to authorize a meeting in Banhalor Square at 2.00-4.30 p.m. on 21 October. By this action the believers want to attract public attention to their demands: to reverse the decision of Minsk CEC about deprival the church of land and to allow re-profiling the building into a cult one.

According to Nasha Niva on 29 September Minsk city territorial fund of state property transferred the money to the church’s account in accordance with the decision of Minsk City Economic Court about forcible ransom of the building in Kavaliou Street 72 (former cowshed) from the church property. According to the Belarusian legislation, the church has to pass the building to the fund within 10-days’ term since the date of the transfer. The believers say they won’t give away the building on their own will and will struggle for it.
