Brestskiy Kurier Won’t Be Included into Subscription Catalog for 2007

According to the BAJ press-service

The editorial board of the non-state newspaper Brestskiy kurier received a letter from Heorhi Tsitou, director of Brest branch of the state enterprise Belposhta (Belarusian post). In the letter it is said that the agreement on distribution and delivery of Brestskiy kurier ends on 31 December 2006 and won’t be prolonged. As a result the newspaper will be excluded from the Catalog of periodicals available for subscription. The reasons for such step are not explained in the letter.

It is worth reminding that on 12 September Belposhta informed the editorial board of the newspaper that the subscription catalog for the first half of 2007 is being formed and proposed to include the edition in it. The editorial board executed all the necessary conditions: paid for the services and provided the necessary information. On 25 September Belposhta confirmed that the newspaper was put into the catalog. It’s quite interesting that in 2005 Belposhta also refused to include the newspaper into the catalog and did it five days before the end of the subscription campaign. In the beginning of 2006 this enterprise broke the agreements on sale of the newspaper and its delivery to citizens of Brest region.
