Mahiliou Youth Holds Flash Mob

On October 14 activists of pro-democratic youth groups held a flash-mob in Mahiliou. By the action the young people demonstrated their solidarity with members of Mahiliou Young Front organization. YF activists were detained on September 14 and are being persecuted by administrations of their educational institutions and KGB.

The number of action participants was 25 – the same as the number of detained activists one month ago. Young people put their hands on each other’s shoulders and walked in chain around a police station and the KGB building.

Let us remind the readers that on September 14 Young Front held its conference in the mahiliou office of the Human Rights Center Viasna. The office was attacked by special police who detained 25 people and seized all printed materials. The detained were taken to Leninski police station. The police interrogated them and examined their personal belongings. In some time the activists were released.
