BAJ received a letter from Mahiliou Region Executive Committee in response to their appeal. BAJ requested investigation of the fact of detention of journalists in Babruisk on August 31. BAJ was informed that internal security department of Mahiliou police has carried out investigation. There were no registered cases of illegal detention of journalists on August 31.We have informed earlier, BAJ addressed the regional police chief asking to initiate proceedings against police officers who had violated journalists’ rights.
