New Act of Vandalism near Memorial to Victims of Jewish Ghetto in Brest

Local residents reported to police that flowers near the memorial to the victims of the Jewish ghetto had been burnt. The staff of the law-enforcing bodies are checking the facts. However, they are not ready to instigate criminal proceedings.

This is not the first time when the memorial to victims of the Brest ghetto has been defiled. However, none of the similar incidents ended with a trial and punishment of the guilty, reports RFE/RL.

We have informed earlier, in the night of November 11-12 the Yama memorial was defiled in Minsk: white paint was spilled on the sculpture composition “The Last Road”, a swastika was drawn on it, and leaflets with fascist content were scattered around. The police failed to find the offenders.
