Baranavichy Police Detains Youth Activists Artur Sasim, Alexander Astrouski and Yaraslau Hryshchenia

Yesterday night the police detained youth activists Artur Sasim, Alexander Astrouski and Yaraslau Hryshchenia. The report for “distribution of printyed materials without publisher’s information” was drawn up.

Sasim and Astrouski were detained at about 10.30 p.m. They were taken to the local police station. Young people called their friends and colleagues and told them about the incident. When Yaraslau Hryshchenia came to the police station to find out what was happening to his friends the police detained him as well. He was also charged with distribution of printed materials.

The activists were released at 5 a.m. The police refused to give any explanations and answer the questions of the youth activists, reports charter’97.
