Ministry of Justice Re-registered the Union of Belarusian Writers

Ales Pashkevich, chairperson of the Union of Belarusian Writers, told BelaPAN, the registration certificate was issued on December 15 and signed by minister of justice Viktar Halavanau.

“Besides that, we received the amended statute, approved by the Ministry of Justice. The amendments are connected with the changes in the Law “about Public Associations” and the change of the organization’s legal address”, -- Ales Pashkevich explained. He says, the organization has all official documents needed to carry out activities legally. Besides that, Pashkevich stresses that re-registration of the Union of Belarusian Writers puts a final dot on “all court battles between the NGO and the Ministry of Justice. The lack of the legal address was one of the Ministry’s main claims”.
