Mahiliou State University Threatens to Expel Student Stanislau Kavaleuski

The dean of the historical faculty Uladzimir Barysenka explains it with the fact that the student took part in an unauthorized protest action against liquidation of privileges, which took place in Mahiliou on 8 May. Besides, he accuses Kavaleuski of having organized the action. To his mind, it manifested in distribution of printed production without data-line, in which students were invited to gather in Savetskaya square, whereas the students states that there is no evidence of his illegal activity.

The dean started threatening the activist with expulsion on 8 May, yet before the action. On 10 May a council of the historical faculty took place. The question of Kavaleuski’s expulsion was discussed. He studies well, that’s why it is hardly possible he will be expelled for poor education progress. The possible political reasons for the expulsion aren’t concealed.

The 8 May action was one of the most successful for the last months. The organizers didn’t even expect that 100 persons could take part in it in a bad weather.
